We’re excited to announce a major backend upgrade across the Nairahost platform: PHP 8.3 is now available, and customers previously running older versions (including PHP 7.4) can upgrade for faster performance and improved security. PHP is the engine that powers many websites and applications—especially WordPress, Laravel, WHMCS modules, and custom scripts—so upgrading PHP can deliver an instant difference in how quickly your pages load and how efficiently your server resources are used.
What this upgrade means for you:
Faster page load times: PHP 8.x includes performance improvements that help dynamic pages respond quicker, especially on busy websites.
Better security posture: Older PHP versions are no longer actively maintained in the same way, so moving to PHP 8.3 helps reduce risk and keeps your stack modern.
Improved stability and compatibility: Many modern themes, plugins, and libraries now target PHP 8.x, so upgrading helps avoid “deprecated” errors and compatibility issues.
How to upgrade (cPanel users):
Log in to cPanel
Open MultiPHP Manager (or “Select PHP Version”, depending on your plan)
Choose your domain and select PHP 8.3
Save changes and test your website
Important note about compatibility:
Some older scripts or outdated WordPress plugins may not be fully compatible with PHP 8.x. If you upgrade and notice issues (blank pages, errors in admin, or broken features), don’t panic—this is usually caused by a plugin/theme that needs an update.
